Lake Charles native Belinda Y. Hughes (on right) is a certified Hatha yoga instructor of eight years' experience.  Belinda has been a substitute teacher and special education paraprofessional in Calcasieu Parish since 2002.  In December 2006 she retired from massage therapy after specializing fifteen years in personal injury rehabilitation, stress management and educating the public on alternative and natural health modalities.


She has presented massage therapy and yoga demonstrations at CARC - Child Development Center, Families Helping Families, Books-a-Million, Grand Casino Coushatta, meetings of the Mossville Homemakers Club, Moss Bluff Lions and Business & Professional Women, and on KPLC-TV (NBC-Lake Charles). 


She was Massage Team Coordinator/Director for the Sulphur Mines Festival December Duathlon and the LA State Senior Olympic Games.  Her article, "Yoga Massage," was published in the ( Lake Charles) American Press.  Her inspirational memoir, LIVING PROOF, is available online at ().


A survivor of Hurricane Rita, domestic violence, and four rear-end collisions in a three-year period with no hospitalization or surgeries, Belinda is grateful to get up out of bed and enjoy productive days with the help of chiropractic care, massage therapy, nutrition, and yoga.
